William F. Buckley has passed away‏.

William F. Buckley Jr. was a a brilliant gentleman. I know of few people that agreed with everything he said, but I know of many who say that he put forward his arguments with intellectual vigor and sharpness. A staunch anti-communist, he is a notable icon for many conservatives but also for people who believe in freedom in general.

He will be missed. Some folks have been speaking a lot about his debate with Chomsky (which was indeed interesting), but I think this clip from the Panama Canal Treaty Debates in 1978 is even better.
